Beginning with its inception in 2010, Ford’s most souped-up version of their classic F-150 pickup, the Raptor, has been nearly synonymous with American muscle trucks: big displacement and big power numbers out of a time-tested, crossplane V8. Following a facelift in 2017, that big V8 was replaced by Ford’s newest golden child, a high-performance variant of their 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost. While the EcoBoost (which is so beloved by Ford that they chose it as the power plant for their new Ford GT supercar) is undeniably a great engine for any application, especially behind the new 10-speed automatic transmission, many would say the ol’ Raptor just isn’t the same without its big V8 powering it across the bajadas. It’s perhaps possible, then, that the V8’s absence was always intended to be temporary while Ford worked through the embryonic stages of its most powerful Raptor ever – the brand-new Raptor R which

The highly-anticipated Ford Ranger Raptor, the smaller brother to the beloved F-150 Raptor, is finally set to hit the North American market for model year 2024. Recently, some spy shots of the Ranger on the assembly line hit the internet, providing a detailed and accurate look at what to expect from this mid-sized truck when it hits the dealer lots. Ford seems to have been hitting it out of the park lately with their new F-150 and Bronco editions, and this trim level offered for the Ranger looks to be no exception. Read on for a detailed recap of what we know currently about the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor so far.  But first, a little backstory on the Ranger’s big brother. The F-150 Raptor: The Original Baja Truck  The first entry in the Raptor lineup was introduced in 2010 as the pinnacle trim level of  the F-150, and since then the

Over the decades, the Blue Oval company has allowed its renowned Ford Bronco nameplate to incur great changes – all destined to fulfill the needs of the U.S. car market at the time. The original Ford Bronco was born as the first SUV model developed by the second-largest U.S. automaker. In production since 1965 (around the same time the company’s Mustang was establishing the pony car sector), the rugged series had an uninterrupted stint over five generations, until 1996. During that time, it quickly morphed from the initial compact SUV offering produced on a dedicated platform that was set to compete with the similarly-sized Jeep CJ-5 International Harvester Scout and Toyota Land Cruiser in three-door SUV, two-door pickup truck and no-door ‘roadster’ form. As such, beginning with the second generation in 1978, and until its initial demise in 1996, the Ford Bronco settled on the three-door SUV body style and transformed into a short-wheelbase adaptation of

Christmas came early for us in 2022 when a Ford Bronco arrived on Dec. 14. It was our first time with one here in Utah and, even more importantly, it came in the form of the very hard-to-find “Raptor.” With the introduction of the Bronco, Ford has conjured up all kinds of past memories and feelings for us of being teenagers and spending time in the foothills with our friends. The new Bronco is just that — a testament to its past but injected with just enough modernness for it to really stand out in today’s crowd. We fell in love with the Bronco’s headlights and boxy look after spending a week using it to get around in one of the largest storms we have seen here in Utah in the past few years. Even with all the snow and bad weather, we had folks stopping us wherever we went

0-62 mph in less than 6 seconds sounds very good to us. The new Ford Ranger Raptor isn’t available in the United States yet but it will eventually arrive in North America. We haven’t had the chance to sample the performance truck yet but we expect to get behind the wheel in the very near future. If you are eager to find out how quick the pickup truck is off the line, you don’t have to wait until it arrives in the US. Thanks to a new video, we can see the 2023 Ranger Raptor in action unleashing all its potential. The PDriveTV channel on YouTube recently had the privilege to test drive the new Ranger Raptor. The vehicle featured in the clip above is from the Australian specification, which means it has the more powerful version of the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6. As a reminder, due to emissions restrictions, in Europe, the truck

RIGID Industries lights may be a little more expensive than competing lights, but they’re definitely worth their money. Designed and engineered in the United States of America, these high-quality lights are compatible with many vehicles, including the most badass Ford Bronco of them all. Owned by Bronco6G member Cactus Jack, the blue-painted rig in the featured clip is rocking a couple of ditch lights connected to the AUX 2 switch. The crème de la crème is the light bar mounted on the windshield frame, right in front of the Carbonized Gray molded-in-color hard top. The light bar is connected to the AUX 3 switch. As for the AUX 1 switch, that one’s tasked with turning the front bumper-mounted fog lights on or off. Given the sticker price of the Bronco Raptor, it’s no wonder Cactus Jack decided to spend top dollar on high-quality aftermarket lights. The most off-road-capable Bronco in production today retails

While many people look at buying a set of new tires as an expensive obligation that one must deal with every couple of years, there can be more of a silver lining to be found than first meets the eye. Tires are surely one of the most important, underappreciated, and often-overlooked parts of any car. This is especially true for a vehicle built for hard use in rough country, like the Ford Raptor. From stock, the all-terrain Raptor comes with appropriately beefy tires – 35” BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrains, which are a great option for nearly any use case, and a smart selection from Ford. While these KO2s are great tires, perhaps you see a sale of a different brand that looks appealing, or, you might be wondering if it’s possible to eek out a little more off-road performance out of your truck by changing your rubber. While we have the Raptor

If you are interested in off-road cars that come equipped with all the bells and whistles, you should look into acquiring a Ford F-150 Raptor.
